The port of Joy Tauro reconquers the top with almost 3,5 million TEU
The port of Joy Tauro reconquers the Mediterranean leadership in the traffic container thanks to an absolute increase of further half million of teu compared to the preceding year. Medcenter Container Terminal (MCT) has enlivened in fact 3.445.337 teu against the 2.938.176 of 2006. But the whole group Contship is Italy, it specifies a sign, to file 2007 with primacy. The Spezia Container Terminal (LSCT) celebrates his twenty years of activity on the quays of the pier Stoves occupying a position on a volume of traffic equal to 1.026.962 teu (+3,1 % compared to the preceding year). Year record also for Terminal Darsena Tuskany (TDT) of Livorno, over the threshold of the half million TEU with 501.394 teu. Record also for Ravenna where Terminal Container grew Ravenna (TCR) of 28,5 % when 193.989 were reaching share teu. Alone Cagliari International Container Terminal (CICT) has undergone the consequences of a second semestre in flexion because of the strategic and commercial readjustment between the great vectors. On the whole, also considering the contribution of the Salerno a Container Terminal (SCT), the group Contship Italy closes the year with a total animated volume of somewhat inferior to 6 million TEU equal to a global increase of 9,2 %. In the activities of intermodal transport of the group, the result of the MTO Sogemar and Hannibal occupies a position even further the 300.000 teus total, highlighting an important consolidation of the national traffics by rail.
