Reggio announces Calabria to the cartoniadi

(COMFORTS) – Reggio Calabria, on time 9 – The Municipality of Reggio Calabria will compete with four important cities, Milan, Bologna, Florence and Palermo in the harvesting of paper and cardboard within the bounds of the named manifestation ‘Cartoniadi‘. The project, which foresees the recycling from the paper in the whole Italy, and’ promoted at the Comieco, the national consortium for the recovery and the recycling of the packages. The initiative, which will have to involve in the harvesting the greatest number of inhabitants of Reggio Calabria to be able to be competitive with other cities in competition, and’ been presented during a conference - print unwound close to the seat of III District (Santa Caterina – Holy Brunello – Vito) that sara’ directly involved in this challenge. To the meeting with the journalists there were present, between others, the communal assessor at the environmental politics Antonio Caridi, Demetrio Logoteta, president of the Fairy Morgana, society 'mixed charged by the differentiated harvesting and some advisors of the District, territory chosen by the Communal Administration also on the grounds of the results recently obtained, particularly in the quarter of Santa Caterina, in the service of harvesting of the damp one. From November 15 until December 15 Reggio Calabria and another five involved Municipality will challenge each other for the award of the national headline of the Cartoniadi 2008 that will be assigned on the grounds of the increase recorded in the harvesting of paper, cardboard and thin card. There is a prize money for 50 thousand Euro to assign to activity’ social choices of the same municipality that will win the competition in palio. L’iniziativa, che dovra’ coinvolgere nella raccolta il maggior numero di reggini per poter essere competitivi con le altre citta’ in gara, e’ stata presentata nel corso di una conferenza-stampa svoltasi presso la sede della III Circoscrizione (Santa Caterina – San Brunello – Vito) che sara’ direttamente coinvolta in questa sfida. All’incontro con i giornalisti erano presenti, tra gli altri, l’assessore comunale alle politiche ambientali Antonio Caridi, Demetrio Logoteta, presidente della Fata Morgana, societa’ mista incaricata per la raccolta differenziata e alcuni consiglieri della Circoscrizione, territorio scelto dall’Amministrazione Comunale anche in base ai risultati recentemente ottenuti, in particolare nel quartiere di Santa Caterina, nel servizio di raccolta dell’umido. Dal 15 novembre al 15 dicembre Reggio Calabria e gli altri cinque Comuni coinvolti si sfideranno per l’aggiudicazione del titolo nazionale delle Cartoniadi 2008 che sara’ assegnato in base all’incremento registrato nella raccolta di carta, cartone e cartoncino. In palio c’e’ un montepremi di 50 mila euro da destinare ad attivita’ sociali scelte dello stesso comune che vincera’ la gara.

“We will have a confrontation with important cities but we are convinced of being able to be competitive and perhaps also of prevailing. A challenge that will not have to see involved the alone district that includes the wards of Santa Caterina, Holy Brunello and Vito but the whole city. We will guide new initiatives to awaken the citizens of that territory who already in past, in any case, have participated actively in the differentiated harvesting. Avvieremo nuove iniziative per sensibilizzare i cittadini di quel territorio che gia’ in passato comunque hanno partecipato attivamente alla raccolta differenziata.
