7 Italians like the Calabria on 10. It is all that emerges from a sounding, on a sample of 1.000 adult subjects resident in Italy, realised by the Eurispes Calabria in collaboration with the University of the Calabria. For 45,6 percent of interviewed, the region evokes the tourism and the environmental beauties. Prejudices in descent between the youth. They do not miss the afflicted signs: for 1 Italian on 4, the Calabria é anchors synonym of organised criminality. To 26,4 percent of the sample, the point of the Boot evokes backwardness and socioeconomic uneasiness. To the question on the total perception that is of the region, quite 53,9 percent have not hesitated to define it “quite positive” and 15,4 percent absolutely “very positive”.

A certainly comforting datum that finds further evidence if two above-mentioned formalities are added: 7 Italians like the point of the Boot on 10. On the opposite side, a little less than 1 Italian about 5 (16,2 %) has declared that of having a completely negative perception: 10,5 percent of interviewed he has chosen the very negative manner of quite negative “” answer and the remaining percent “”. The sounding indicates in evident way which negative perceptions of the Calabria, when there were excluding those who have not answered, are found preskilfully in the South and little by little less in the Centre and to the North: 21,8 percent of the interviewed residents in the southern regions have shown a very negative” and “quite negative “” perception against 19,2 percent in the Centre and 16,4 percent of the residents to the North.
