The Europe investigates the European funds finished in the balloon
The initiative of the europarliamentarian Beniamino Donnici has given the first fruits and the Europe has guided an inquiry on the million European funds spent to sponsor the national one of football and news é rebounded on all the national heads.

Altri fondi saranno invece presumibilmente versati alla Federcalcio, per lo sfruttamento dell’immagine dei calciatori. «Ora la domanda é: davvero la Calabria ha bisogno di sponsorizzare la nazionale di calcio con i soldi per lo sviluppo che le arrivano dall’Europa? — commenta l’eurodeputato Beniamino Donnici, del gruppo Alleanza dei liberali e dei democratici (Alde), che con una interrogazione ha aperto il caso — . Otto milioni sono una cifra enorme: non vorrei fossero stati tolti dai fondi (anch’essi europei) che erano però destinati ai porti turistici dei nostri 800 chilometri di coste. Quelli, nel Por Programma operativo regionale 2000-2006, erano già 30 milioni in co-finanziamento». In effetti, fra le carte regionali che ora la Commissione Europea ha chiesto di esaminare, vi sono le tracce di fondi Ue che passano da una destinazione all’altra, con regolare approvazione del «Comitato di sorveglianza del Por Calabria». Si dice «rimodulazione », nel linguaggio amministrativo, e cosଠsi legge su queste carte. Mentre, nell’ultimo rapporto su Calabria e Sicilia firmato a luglio dai controllori inviati laggi๠dalla Commissione europea, si punta il dito sulla «frequente ri—programmazione», o «spostamento delle risorse», a causa del quale «gli obiettivi originali » degli stanziamenti Ue «possono essere raggiunti solo parzialmente».

Promozione, più o meno in quello stesso periodo, per la Regione Calabria significava la campagna firmata da Oliviero Toscani: cosଠricorda l’interrogazione di Donnici. Quella campagna che sui manifesti ritraeva volti di giovani con le scritte «Terroni? Malavitosi? Sà¬, siamo calabresi ». Costo dell’iniziativa, 200mila euro compresi Iva e rimborsi spese, secondo le agenzie di stampa; circa 6 milioni, sempre secondo l’interrogazione. «Mah… vedremo che cosa risulterà dall’indagine della Commissione Europea — dice ancora Donnici — . Ma certo é difficile credere che siano state realizzate campagne di promozione e marketing tanto costose quanto sterili di risultati. Se poi fosse confermato che i fondi Por utilizzati erano destinati al disastrato settore della portualità turistica, sarebbe una follia da Guinness dei primati ». Per gli 8 milioni Ue «investiti » nel calcio, la commissaria Danuta Hubner si attende risposte prima dei mondiali nel 2010.
